Horses

The photograph of today is taken a couple of days ago, when these horses were still the guests in our “garden” and were gracefully grazing just in front of us.
Being so close to these sensitive animals, and being able to observe them over a longer period when they are also more at ease with this human being so close by and constantly in their sensory neighborhood, is quite fascinating.
Their patterns are to being together: where one goes the other follows. They are standing side by side but in such a way that their tails wipe the flies from the other horse’s face and they cover each other’s back. When one starts galloping the other follows. They eat nuts but are particular about what weeds and herbs they eat. They love freshly picked apples and other fruits.
We enjoyed having them around us for a couple of weeks but truth be said: the flies that come along with them are a nuisance, so I can imagine what a pest the flies are for the animals themselves.
The early sunshine on the horses that morning when the picture was taken was quite intense and therefore I decided to capture this and show off with it on my blog and have the opportunity to share it with you .
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did and do.
Excellent post. Some great points you mention in there.
Just came across this site but I’m liking it already!
