On this day, the one before the French national holiday “Quatorze Juillet”, I wish to share with you what I call one of the French Finds. Another indication of glorious times gone by.

This kind of Finds are rampant in the Aude area and once you have put on your “vision” to see all this historical evidence you will find them and your imagination can start running wild.

Upon locating one of these hidden treasures I see Knights Templar on huge white stallions, beautiful young women waiting to be saved,  Troubadours showing up under windows, passion and adventure galore…. in my imagination!

But also the other side of history, people being persecuted because of faith and religion, fire stakes and brutality, war and evil, come to my mind’s eye as well.

The 2 sides of one coin …

One thing is clear: every time you go out to venture in these lands of the Languedoc (click to go to our website) you will return with another French Find ….. come along on this treasure hunt …
